Slavia 631

I've owned both the 630 and 631 models. The metal parts are identical. The only difference between the two models is the rifle stock (the 631 has a "deluxe" stock). I personally preferred the 630 because it's a bit lighter, but they used to be the best East European made air rifles. The velocity is about 600 f/s (if I remember correctly) so they are not magnum rifles but still powerful and very accurate. Very good value for the money. Check the spring for lubrication. Many of the rifles are shipped dry.

They're supposed to be under 500fps officially anyways.

I have my brother's 630, and it's been working for the past 2 decades.

My dad picked up a slavia decades ago and it's been sitting at the cabin ready any day of the week for plenty of shooting. Numbers would definitely be in multiple thousands of pellets down the tube. Not overly powerful anymore, but still strong enough to stick into wood and not worry about ricochets.

Man, does this thread take me back. Mom and Dad bought me a used Slavia in my very early teens and I put thousands of pellets down its pipe.

I remember loading pellets backwards to make hollowpoints, lol. The tin cans didn't seem to notice, but I got my first introduction to keyholing and stabilization.

Next time I'm home I'll have to dig the old girl out...

I'll google it, but does anyone know of any sites off the top of their head regarding how to service the Slavia's? Its been in my bedroom at the farm for the last 15 years just sitting there and I'm thinking it probably could use a clean and lube before giving her a try again.

The Slavia is a very good quality air rifle for the price. I have owned quite a few different models over the years. Haven't been able to locate any rebuild parts in the past ten years or so, so I moved up to a Diana.

they are a great little air rifle i modified mine by placing about 6 washers into where the spring is now there is alot of tension on the spring dont know how to measure the fps anymore but it punches some real nice holes into almost everything

I took out some spring to give it a very light trigger. Shot it a few times yesterday. Hard to tell that it's so old.

It cost all of $20 to put in a better spring and two washers. Now you have a gun you can hunt with...........................Harold ******* mine staples grouse
