Slavia 631

It cost all of $20 to put in a better spring and two washers. Now you have a gun you can hunt with...........................Harold ******* mine staples grouse

What may I ask, is it you did with the spring and washers?

Where did you get a new spring?

Lone Wolf:if ignorance is bliss you must be in Nirvana...........Liberty I'll send you a PM when I locate the contact info for the gentleman that was selling the tune kit. There is also a step by step artical on the same that I'll find for you.................Harold

No you don't get the spring from home hardware. You can order the spring from various places but you have to know the spring dimensions of your spring, this way you can decide whether to put a factory replacement or something a little hotter (more length,Wire Diameter,Spring O.D etc) You have to find out how much room you have to play with..

It's simple, heres what to do,

Remove the spring, Count the coils, measure the overall length, O.D, I.D and wire thickness(Diameter).. Once you have these measurements I can help you pick what spring to get.

Use Webcrawler to..............cherrytwist-Slavia631 tune-up *** Airbuddy3 is where I got my parts. So easy a caveman could do it...................Harold *the 631 and 630 are 95% identical internally.... anyone else interested in these kits PM me and I'll send you in the right direction

Airbuddy3 was banned from a number of airgun forums for his less than ethical business practices, including his "tune kits".

If you got the "tune kit" from Airbuddy3, lone-wolf was correct - the washers are indeed from Home Hardware.

I don't know about his washer sourse but the spring works fine.Never had a problem with him.Was he ripping off people or what?I got the kit a couple years back so I must have missed the shunning? D+L has utility springs for $8 if you measure the original.Harold

Thank you. Here is the factory CZ630 -500fps spring measurements if you wish to go a different route..........7 7/8" OAL---# of coils 36----OD .730"-- wire dia.---.110" Harold

Yes, he was.

He damaged a number of guns that were sent to him for a "tune", and many were sent back in totally inoperable condition. There is at least one member here on CGN that can provide first hand details on his Diana 46 (460?) "tune".

He was also selling "tune kits" that were comprised of inexpensive Chinese sourced springs, and Home Hardware washers - but - fraudulently sold as "Maccari tune kits". The only source for a bona-fide Maccari tune kit, is James Maccari.

The D&L utility replacement mainsprings are, by all accounts that I have heard, an excellent product for their intended application.

I used a D+L #2 utility spring to rebuild a childhood pellet rifle of Hungarian lineage and it works like new as well.I don't want to steer anyone to a crook on purpose.Didn't know his history.Too bad as most people are honest.D+L has some springs that may be close enough to work in the 630-631 though............Harold

I have a mint 630 I bought from the hardware store 15 years ago, and still love it. I used to shoot squirrels with it as a teenager. It'll peg pop cans at 50m with the standard open sights if it's dead calm.:sniper:

I bought mine from the Army and Navy in NE Calgary back in the 80's. It has been an good rifle but needs a new main spring now as it is getting a bit weak.

slavia 620

sorry you guys and maybe I should have started a new post but what is the FPS for a slavia 620 ? I have my dads old slavia 620 and I also have a slavia break action pellet pistol . the pistol is mint and it is locked away in a cabinet as I don;t use it . it has this knob on the back for who knows what and I think you can adjust the sights on it . I also have a crossman 600 ??? if I remember right and it is a semiauto 22 cal pistol ??? sorry I have;nt looked at them in ages as it;s nearly impossible to drag them down the ravine across the street from me without someone maybe calling the cops . I used to love sinking pop cans people discarded in the creek . the 620 could sink them without any problem and a few critters croked due to my hunting with it many years ago . a few too many maybe ?????? I will post photos of the pistol in the future for you guys as I have never seen one before . my dad used to sell all the aformentioned stuff as a traveling salesman back in the 60ties and 70ties . :D
