Slick Side Chrome Bolt Carrier Groups

Hello All,

Im kind of an outsider in the AR circles so I am just looking for some help to point me in the right direction.

Does anyone know where you can get a Slick Side Chrome Bolt Carrier Group? I am doing a Colt Model 602 clone and the only thing I dont have besides the fun full auto bits is the Chrome BCG. Are these even available anywhere? are how much do they usually cost?

Any help is awesome.

Had one, sold it on the board a few years ago. Built too many clones and decided to thin the herd. I think I was the only guy in Canada that have one. They are very rare. I know the guy I sold it to was trying to sell it on gunbroker for around $500.
 
I was under the impression that the older model AR's had lowers that are referred to as "slab side" .And a bolt with no Forward Assist Serrations was referred to as "slick slide" but that would also makes sense to call the upper a slick slide as well. Thanks for the info on questar I can see they are a site sponsor I will check them out.

The term of course should be "slick side" but I knew what you meant.

Nope, I've got one too. But, I bought it while I was living and working in the US, 15 years ago just as the retro market down there was starting to appear. I think I paid $90 for it, which was about 20 bucks more than a new one was worth at the time. Given the popularity of retro now I suspect it is currently worth much more.

You pretty much have to find one lying on a table at a gun show. I don't think they exist anywhere in number.

The SP1 was always made without the forward assist, from the first day of production in 1964 to the very last in 1985. But not more than a couple thousand were made with slick side carriers, and most of those were parkerized slick sides. The only one I can find documented to be chrome and slick sided is serial num 00005.
