slide is catching on the magazine

i recently got a new sig sauer 1911 -22 and the slide seems to be catching on the magazine every so often. if i gently insert the magazine it doesnt ocur as often, but when i push the magazine in with just a bit more force it will tend to jam the slide, not letting it move forward

when i depress the slide release lever it feels like it wont move. but when i remove the magazine, the slide will slam forward. So i am guessing the slide is getting caught on the magazine?

Anyone else have this trouble?
 
I get this with my Tanfoglio Ltd Custom. It's my mags in combination with the base pads lips being a hair too thin so it allows the mag to ride up few thou higher than it should.
 
Thanks for the reply. I want to buy more mags anyways. Will see if they all do the same.


Also starting to think it's also due to the new mags having a heavy spring force. Might load it up with dummies for a little while and see if that helps
