Slide lubricant, what do you use?

Rescomp Speed Metal, of course...

I prefer oil over grease, but want some thickness to keep it in the gun, so this stuff works great.

I use a product from KLUBER LUBRICATION called ISOFLEX TOPAS NB 52. This is a very expensive rolling bearing grease that is used on isolated crankshaft bearings on Rotax engines.
After cleaning, use a tooth pick to apply a small amount of this light grease to the slide, barrel, bushing etc. 300 rounds later it is still present and doing it's job, preventing that wear that will affect the accuracy of your expensive target pistol.

Available from BRP (ski-doo) dealers.
Part number, 293 5500 21
Price, $67.49 for 50 grams. (will last you for years and years)

+1 for Rescomp Speed Metal. It seems halfway between a grease and oil(it has the consistency of honey).Even after hundreds of rounds, its still on the gun and hasnt burnt off like some of the oils and hasnt formed sludge like some of the greases.Really like the stuff

I am quite satisfied with Lucas Gun Oil. It seems to stay on/last a long time and its cheap, about $5.00 a bottle at most automotive stores.

lubricant

Precision Oiler for electronic equipment bought at The Source chain stores (formerly Radio Shack)...already comes in a plastic tube with needle tip applicator affixed, just take the small cap off and apply......permanently dispenses microminiature particles of Teflon and Fluon: super slippery lubricant resists dust, does not coagulate, and has no oily residue unaffected by temperature extremes -50C to +260C permits one drop application in tight places its penetrating action can free "frozen" nuts, bolts, locks and bearings.................I've used this for the last 6 years with absolutely nothing but praise, makes all actions super smooth, even if you overlube by a severe amount (hard to do with ONE drop applicator) and it spatters on your CMore on an Open div gun you can still do the stage without it afftecting sight performance and is very easy to wipe off as it leaves no oily residue..........try it, available in all The Source stores

Lucas? Really? I got tons of that stuff for my Camaro and high mileage p/u. Great news!

Best stuff I've used so far is Hoppe's blue Moly Oil in the small bottle with the needle but it's been dicontinued... :(

Oh, Otay... Lucas makes specific gun oil. :( Guess I'll have to use the online store to order some.

race1911, to keep the C-More clean all you need is after it's clean use Rain-X (for car windshield) then wiping the lense between stages is super easy......for cleaning the lense I use Fire place Window cleaner...got those tip from IPSC1 when I started shooting Open, no ill effect after 3 years....the oil doesn't stick, and my gunsmith say to use FP10!
