I had an issue yesterday with my slide being stuck in the middle. When I put my gun back together after cleaning it the ejector popped up and locked the slide. I fixed it. I took it to the range to test it out today and now if jams on almost every mag once or twice. The slide doesn't close all the way forward. When I give it a hard tap forward I can shoot away until the next exact type of jam. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking may a new recoil spring?

It sounds like something beyond a new recoil spring. I would have a gunsmith look at it. I, like most people on this board, try and figure things out on my own where possible. This can be counter productive though. Some issues I have had with various firearms... I have hummed and hawed about for a week or more... then I take it to a gunsmith and they have it fixed in 5 minutes. I like going to Joe Dlask here in Vancouver because he knows so much, and (importantly) his turnaround time is very short compared to just about everyone else I have gone to. Ask around as to who is the guy for pistols in the Ottawa area and get it done right rather than getting all frustrated with it.

Let me ask the obvious, are you reloading?
If you are, you may have a mis adjusted sizing die...
That little bulge in some rounds will cause feeding issue and prevent the slide from slammin' home.
If you were shooting reloads, try factory ammo and see what happens.

They were reloads. I'll try some factory but I don't think this is the issue. Anything else that could cause this issue?

Could be the extractor is too tight or needs polishing, thus preventing the extractor from grabbing onto the rim of the cartridge.
Or a weak return spring.
Or bulged reloads.

try the adjusting the depth of the bullet you are seating. I find my reloads for my G17 tend to be shorter in OAL then factory. Use to have the same problem as you, slide didn't finsih the full battery.

Take the barrel out, drop a factory round in there, note where the back of the round sits compared to the feeding ramp edge. The bullet should actually drop in quite smoothly. Now put one of your reloads in, the back end should also be seated at the same spot as your factory round and should also drop in smoothly. If not, adjust the dies and go again. That'd be the first place I look. After that, give it a good cleaning, and make sure your rounds are getting a full primer strike. could be build up in your firing pin channel, making for light primer strikes, resulting in a crappy battery of the slide.

Look at the hammer pin on the right side of the gun near the rear (the hammer); has it worked out a little? It should be flat/flush to the frame.

X2 on the reloads, and factory. I was also wondering if you chamber check your reloads? The other question is, does it do this on every round, or is it every now and then? You may have some fatigued pieces of brass in your mix.

I'd like to thank everyone for their input! My frustration is a thing of the past. My P345 seems to be back to its old self! 150 rounds not one hiccup!! Only problem is I don't know who to thank so I will thank all of you! I read many posts and I foolishly changed two things at the same so I don't know which one fixed the problem. I polished the ramp and chamber then I realised that the plastic tab covering the hammer pivot pin was out so I pushed it back into place. All rounds fired were reloads so I don't believe that was the issue. :dancingbanana:

I also had a problem with my P345 after the first time i cleaned it after takein it out to the range. The first time I used the gun it worked perfect without any problems whatsoever through about 200 rounds. After I cleaned it, every time I took it out it would jam almost every time. I called up Ruger and right away the service tech knew what the problem was! "Sounds like you put your recoil spring in backwards" he said. Sure enough one end of the spring is slightly ( VERY SLIGHTLY) wider than the other. The wider end is supposed to go in the nose of the slide. Maybe have a look at that as well. I put a small paint marker dab on the wider side so I never make the mistake again. Haven't had a single problem since then, 2000 rounds through the gun and I love it!

I had the same problems with my Nork .45 using reloads. Same load and components but with a different batch of projectiles (same mfr though). I had to re-adjust my dies and I then shot the new load through my chrony just to double check what was coming out.

The other prolem that happens when reloading is if your dies dont have a build in crimp.and the case mouth is still flared abit and wont fully chamber.
if your dis do not have a built in crimp then you have to buy a seperate
crimping die and go through a nother stage of seperatly crimping each reload.
