Slide release - Glock 21SF (pic)

I was talking to the Glock guys at a Glock Dealeo and they said that THEY prefer the current model not the Gen4 for some reason. I saw the GEN 4 there, and I liked the current one better which is what I bought.

He probably had a bunch of Gen 3's to sell off.

Take Care

if you start to use the slide release to actually release the slide, you WILL wear out the slide notch after roughly after about 1000 or so rounds. Happened to the previous owner of my glock 17 3rd gen. I had to shave it down and it was good to go. The reason why the glock calls that part a slide lock! its not a release. So, if you want to wear out your slide notch, fill your boots.

I just got my Gen 4 G22 and to me it is far superior to the Gen 3. Just hold one and shoot it for yourself. You will immediately see the difference. It fits my hand much better and is a little softer on the recoil then the previous Gen 3.

Man, if that always happens, you would think Glock would stop telling people to go ahead and do it in their manuals, and including a picture of it being done.

I guess they just want people to wear out their guns after a thousand rounds or something.

"After the last round has been fired, the slide remains open. Remove the empty magazine from
the weapon by pushing the magazine catch (19). Insert a new magazine and then either push
the slide stop lever (27) downwards (see photo), or pull the slide slightly backwards and allow it
to spring forwards
. The weapon is now again secured and ready to fire."
