Does anyone have any suggestions for a slim or low profile trigger lock that would fit well and be unobtrusive in a pistol case? The regular locks with the long bar out the back take up a lot of room and position the pistol up at a weird angle in my pistol’s OEM case, and yes I can (and do) use another case for it, but it’d be nice to be able to use its own case if it’s the only thing I’m taking to the range that trip.

I’ve done googling and nothing really jumped out at me as what I was looking for, and I didn’t see anything doing a search of this forum either.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I have found the most slim and economical ones to be the screw together ones that Canada Ammo sells.
Figure out how much of the threaded bolt you need by installing it and tightening it 90%, mark the threads that are still exposed, then cut the bolt there so you don't have an excess of threads protruding past the thickness of the slide when it is sitting tightly in the case.

I use these exclusively nowadays. They are metal and 3/$13. I modify them I run a 1/4-20 tap through them and use a cap screw ( the head needs ground a bit but they work good. The key that comes with it sucks. IMG_0183.JPG

I use the combo style and found ones with no bar sticking out the back. Low profile, flat, allows the HG too sit nice and does not impede with the closure of my OEM case. I found them here.

Could run a cable lock through the gun, downside it would always be at half-cocked but the cable lock keeps the gun very slim in a gun case.

Cable locks are the worst, even more bulky and a pain than the Master brand key or combo trigger locks. You either compromise on quick to remove or low profile, I’ve yet to see one that does both. I honestly hate the damn things.

These are as slim as I could find, and I looked a long time.

Thanks a lot for all of the suggestions. I like the looks of the combo locks with the nub on the number side and flat on the back, I imagine there’s enough room to fit it if it’s pointing into the case. If that fails I’ll use one of the screw-type ones.

Has anyone ever seen a definitive, legally valid statement that confirms that the cheap screw-type locks meet the legal definition of "secure locking device"?
They don't have real "keys"...
I searched here and also googled but found nothing.
