Looking for a couple of things I could do to get my 700BDL dm 30-06 down to around or just under 7lbs. Right now it has a wood stock, blued barrel ,wears a 3-9x40 bushnell 3200 and has weaver rings and bases. Or would it make more sense to sell it and put the money towards a 700 mountain rifle? I figgure I could get $600.00plus for the bdl and adding $400.00 gets me the mountain.

Switch to a lightweight synthetic ADL style of stock, aluminum bases and rings, find a Leupold 2-7 x 33 scope (lighter then your 3200), aluminum studs and a nylon sling. That should put you under 7 pounds without too much difficulty. Or just buy one of the Titanium 700s I guess. - dan
