Hello,

Need a sling for my DD. Based on discussion here I'm considering Blue force gear vcas. However, need help with how to attach it to the rifle. Please advice, what do I need ?

Thanks in advance.

Depends... you could just use the standard sling loops, or you could get fancy and use QD points.

I started with the VCAS but eventually moved to a Magpul MS4. I really like being able to switch from single to two point when preferred.

There are many sling mount options for AR’s. M-LOK QD’s, Paraclip, swivels etc., it depends on mounting options for your rifle and preferences for number of mounting points. I went with a 2 point MS1 with M-LOK QD on the front hand guard and a QD swivel for the stock(its great to totally remove the sling in a couple of seconds).

It is stock DD M4v7.
Basically I need a sling to attend a course , but after I most likely don't need it (IPSC game).
If I understand correctly, I should be able to attach sling as is just for my course ?

Your DD rear stock has 2 slots that support the mounting of a BFG sling out of the box as well as the hole for a QD mount.

For a front mount you would need to get some kind of mount point for your handguard and the associated hardware for the sling. QD, RSA with a clip, etc etc.

Just checked DD website and it seems like the stock DD M4v7 has an M-LOK hand guard as well as 2 QD sockets, one at the barrel nut and one at the muzzle locations. There is also a QD in the stock, so all you would need is a sling with 2 QD swivels.

After digesting that information, looking into DD website and at my actual rifle looks lke my version is old and doesn't have QD points at the hand guard, only port under tube at the lower.
So as Paul_T said, need front mount point.
Thanks to everyone !
