Hi all,

I'm looking for something different to mount up a sling to my Tavor rifle. I like the midpoint stud, and would like to see something similar at the back of the stock where people have been threading the para-cord for the factory "seatbelt". I prefer a single point sling - similar to the original ZM bungee, or the IDF Bungee sling. To mount it, I'd like to grab one of "quick disconnect" sling swivels - (Mesa Tactical / Uncle Mike's etc). I'd then fab up a threaded "Chicago Screw" to attach the swivel through the body of the rifle... et voila...

One small problem... can't find a swivel... wait, that's a lie... I found one for 21 dollars in BC, but it was almost 21 to ship it... (no profit there)... does anyone know of a more reasonable place to purchase something like this...or have any suggestions.

NEW...

Well, I had a hard time finding what I needed... So decided to Tinker... See the last post for pics and a quick description...

I think I'd need one that has the base...easier to thread into a Chicago Screw... I wouldn't know how to mount it otherwise without much more extensive machining...

Homemade Sling Mount for Tavor Rifle

As I said earlier, I'm looking for a way to mount a sling (single point) to the rear of the Tavor... Perhaps I'll eventually find what I'm looking for, but in the interim, I broke out some delrin, a few other bits and pieces, and lathed away...

These are the finished parts - Shoulder bolt (turned slightly to fit mount hole perfectly), two flat rubber washers, a single buna o-ring, and the delrin attachment point.

Shoulder bolt passes through rear of the stock, with flat rubber washer added to protect the polymer from the cap head of the bolt.

The delrin sling mount is threaded to attach to the shoulder bolt. Another flat rubber washer and o-ring are added to again, protect the polymer stock.

Another angle - all assembled. All I have left to do is find a decent bungee sling, similar to, if not the same as the IDF use.

If it works out well, and I think I'll like the mount, I'll machine one out of aluminum, and type III anodize it.

Cheers

Mike
