Getting the accessories together while I wait for my 102. I haven’t owned an AR style gun before so I’m not familiar with sling options. I need a solution for hiking while hunting. Probably 3/4 of the time with a backpack and small chest pack (Hill people gear) and 1/4 with just the chest pack, so it needs to be compatible those.

For my bolt guns I find the traditional sling even with rubber slips off my shoulder especially with a pack. Had success with a homemade version of the Kifaru gun bearer, and really like the hands free option without all the weight on one shoulder. Has anyone used one of these with an AR? I guess the main difference is the pistol grip and mag, so it should still work. However I would still need a sling when not wearing a backpack.

A 1 point sling looks like it would hang too low and not control movement enough for hiking in bush and steep terrain? If it did work maybe one of those Y style ones clipped to backpack straps (or chest pack straps if not wearing backpack)?

Would a 2 point front carry work with backpack? Does it go over or under the backpack? Would this carry position be awkward with the chest pack?

So, here I am sitting with my new BCL and I am planning on a sling for hunting as well. I am about 99% convinced I'm getting a BFG sling for it. What I can't figure out is how to mount it. I know there is 2 QD points on the handguard, but there is none on the Cap'n Hook buttstock? Ideally, I'd like to have QD points on both ends. So, what's the easiest way to accomplish this? I am really new to AR style rifles so, any help would be greatly appreciated.
