Slings on takedowns

Check out this photo of the Chiappa 1886 Kodiak . . .
That's how I'd mount the front swivel stud on your rifle. The funny thing is, unless the forearm was particularly long, I doubt I'd do it that way on a .45/70 like the 1886 in the photo because I'd be concerned about the stud cutting my hand under heavy recoil. I've gone the magazine band sling attachment route in the past, and its not bad, it looks good, and keeps the swivel stud away from your hand, but if it comes loose it'll slide around and be a nuisance until you get out the Lock-Tite.
As an alternative, the Brass Stacker will work if you like the look, and it comes with a magazine band front attachment . . .

Boomer, had a look at those Brass Stacker things. Whilst I like the idea I’m not so keen on clamping anything to the mag tube.
1) it feels quite light
2) I don’t want to mess with the tolerances as the mag tube is part of the takedown mechanism
I think it may be the case of getting the heel and forend fitted with sling swivel studs. I'm not sure why they don't put the front swivel on the Alaskan....

I know this is not a lever action but you could just put the two sling swivels on the front end of the gun. It still works fine

Is it set up for slug shooting with those tangent sights?
This is actually at BSA. Its chambered for 22lr and has a C broad arrow stamp on it. It has a very heavy barrel on it
I used it on a just right carbine however a short lever gun is about the same length. Just screw in a rear stud in the buttstock and choose the style of single point slings. I wouldnt suggest one in the chamber but you could rack one in as you brought it around and to shoulder.
Personally I'd go with a Slogan Ultraflex Shotgun Loop Sling.

I bought one for a shotgun I wanted the option to sling but didn't want to modify at all and it is very secure and holds perfectly with the way they have set up the loops. I'm a fan and I have a couple other Slogan slings and am pretty damn happy with them. I even think it would look pretty good with the way the alaskans look.

I like the look of how he has a boot with a QD stud but I thing the above will be a problem as the cords are right across where the scout scope sits.
