Hello,

Having a look for a good tactical sling for my 590a1(Hogue stock).

I am a single point user on my shorty AR but think the 18.5" might be too long for a single point. Anyone with any feedback on sling and mounting that allowed good transition and maneuvering?

thanks!

I use the EMDOM Gunslinger Sling. It is an adjustable two point sling that can be changed to a one point sling with a quick re-adjustment. I use this sling pretty much exclusively on my long guns. For my 590A1, I use a VangComp sidemount sling mount and a Midwest Ind sling mount for the rear hook up.

Single point sling for a long-ish shotgun is not ideal. Not only will it allow your barrel to get plugged with debris when going to a kneeling position with the long gun dangling, but the end of the barrel will annoyingly bash your knees to no end when you transition and move, or when you are doing things with both hands.

Vickers combat application slings. It's quickly adjustable and the webbing at the 2 point ends can be used to put on whatever mounting connect you want. I love it and will continue to buy it for my guns.

Magpul MS2 sling, on a S&J Hardware rear plate, and a QD swivel mounted on a rail to the side, works well on as a single point sling or a 2 point... I like it as a single point though...

Side note though... with the rear plate, there's a small gap between the trigger and the stock assembly...

I use this on my cz 858. Go for a 2 point as I have found them more versatile than single point. Stay away from 3 point.

I have a loop of paracord Prusik'd around the grip with a Magpul MS2 that I had lying around clipped into the loop that sticks out.

I was running a single point gerasector (when I had a shotgun) I was very impressed by it and they have a 2nd gen now... They also have 2points. Not sure if they still ship directly up here, but they had amazing service back then.

I agree with the Magpul except I would go with the new MS3. It is more durable than the MS2. Make sure to buy the ASAP mount should you decide to go with it!
