I’ve used a lot of slings, cobras, 1” straps of both leather and nylon, 1 and 2 piece hook and loop shooting slings. The 1 piece Re called Whelen slings, I call the 2 piece military slings but could be wrong. The there was my Ching Sling years, those have a lot of merit but you run 3 studs.
Somewhere about the time I got into long range hunting I was looking for the most comfortable way to carry 16-17 pound rifles and stumbled onto a Levy’s Leather 2 1/4” wide padded leather and suede sling. They are made in Quebec and all their stuff practically reeks of quality. After a while I started noticing that I was always reaching for it first, even on standard weight rifles. Besides comfort, it is the right width and thickness to use as a forend pad for improvised field rests, some of which are rocks. That first one has been all over the world, I got a couple more just in case they quit making them or something.
