My current fav duck gun is a '46 Ithaca Model 37 in 12 gauge. It's taken its knocks over the decades, and it sports a Boyd replacement stock.

Question: has anyone here ever fitted a slip-on recoil pad to a Boyd stock? I could use an extra inch or so on the length of pull, and wouldn't mind taming the Ithaca's rather healthy kick. The Boyd measures a bit over 4 1/2 inches from top to bottom, and the few slip-on pads that I've run across online (Pachmayr, etc) have measurements that seem too big.

Any specific advice/suggestions will be appreciated greatly...

Can't help you directly from experience on a mod37 but the smallest size slip on from Limbsaver should work.
Size Chart:
Small
1″ thick L.O.P.
4 – 1/2” X 1 – 1/2”Up to: 4 13/16” X 1 – 5/8”

I'd imagine the smallest from pachmayer would also work.

Some Electrical tape will secure it if it's a tad loose and also make it easier to shoulder if the rubber is too gripy....

The size small Pachmayr slip on fits perfect on every milsurp rifle and 12 gauge shotgun I've tried.
