Unless, you plan on shooting past 1 km, precious few rifles need a sloped base even with a 308 chambering.
Just for reference, a 308 and heavier bullets need 35 to 40 min to go from 100 to 1000yds. My 7RM shooting 162gr Amax need 20min. Most 1" tubes have 40 to 60 min of travel, some 30mm have more. Even if your scope zeros in the middle of its available travel, most cartridges can go a long ways before running out of elevation adjustment.
As another frame of reference, with my 7RM and 80 min of elevation, I could shoot PAST 2000m, probably close to 2500m with internal adjustment. I wonder if you plan on shooting that far.
With 120min, I wonder how far I could go? 3 to 3.5km?
A set of Burris Sig rings w/inserts will be way easier to set up and 1/2 the price of many 'tactical' sloped bases. As to the cool factor, up to you...
