so I was #8 on the list from TNA and received my SLR receiver last week.

points of note:

-Pins PITA to put in, but hey, they went in
-I used an M16 hammer so I widened the top of the trigger pack on the right side by 3mm to accommodate the sear.
-Mags would seat but get stuck and be a PITA to remove when the upper was installed. So looked for advise and removed less than 1mm of material on the upper in the corners where the mags were jamming. They now come free with a pull. No mags drop free right now, but i can live with that, as time goes it will losen.
-separating the upper and lower is a PITA, have to pull hard to separate, im sure with time it will be easier.

I'll be shooting it this saturday at CHC around lunch or there after if anyone is there, say hi, you'll see the red mag extensions.

Would i buy it again? not for this price and lack of quality control. who doesn't know the dimensions for AR mags by now...

Most of the parts, I bought through the states as i was overseas so parts were easier to get and cheaper, LPK is from TNA and the barrel is a 20in DLASK 5.56mm chrome lined one.

I'll be putting in an ambi safety and mag release once they show up. Although i always use the right mag release and i pull back the charging handle to release the bolt carrier. Asthetics am I right? haha

I am waiting on another upper (from CSC) to make a 7.62x39 upper. I am sure i will get that some day.

I was no. 7 on the waiting list and just finished my build today.
Some of my mags drop free (Robinson Armament XCR-L pistol mags) and the others bind a bit, but I can easily remove them by gentle pulling, no real force needed. But I agree that in any platform using AR style mags these days, they shouldn't bind so tight that it requires great force to get them out.

This has been covered by other people too, but could you elaborate on your installation of the pins?
I have a set coming and want to be prepared when I have to do it.
Thanks.

Bolt Catch roll pin. I squeezed an end(1/4 of entire pin) of the roll pin with pliers to make a 'tapered' end, taped up the receiver like crazy with electrical tape to prevent any marks if I missed. Put the roll pin in a roll pin holder and hammered it in slowly, then took a punch and finished the install.

Trigger guard roll pin. Same as above. Trigger guard one, went in easier than Bolt Catch.

Some installs recommend using taped pliers to slowly squeeze it in, it wouldn't seat in the pin hole to do that for me. So resorted to hammering gently.

Bring a vice grip with you wide enough to grab onto a mag.

Multiple mags failed to come out by hand alone, bolt stuck forward, and round in the chamber. Not a fun thing to deal with at the range. LAR-15 mags now work fine, the corners in the upper wore enough, but E-LANDER LAR-15 MAGS DO NOT COME OUT.

Not one metal mag I've tried works in mine. Try some poly mags if you can.

These ones lock in and drop free perfectly fine

MFT 10rd pistol mags
ATRS AT15 10rd pistol mags
Magpul G3 mags

Just finished my .223 Wylde build and am impressed by a number of things. Tight tolerances between the receivers, the trigger box nicely fits the lower, the magazines drop freely, the bolt catch is secure with no wiggle (required to squeeze the end for a taper fit as already stated) and the barrel feed ramps perfectly aligned with the barrel extension.

For the time being this build has a mil-Spec trigger as the trigger cartridges that I prefer will not work in the MDI SLR.

The one minor unexpected modification was with the removal of anti-cant tabs on the Midwest Industries MLock rail. This receiver set has a slightly larger dimension around the trigger guard and barrel threads.

It is pricey, but that is what we deal with for the right to own a NR AR type rifle in Canada.

Finally got out to shoot it.

It shoots straight thats for sure.
The receiver screw does not come loose.
All the mags now seat. But like higher in this thread, i had to clean up the inside of the upper to fit them a tiny bit. After i did that i true blacked them. No issues.

Real nice rifle to shoot

And if enection port was enlarged by milling. Could thjs be made for .50 beowulf? From what i understand all ar15 part except trigger group will work in these?

My milspec trigger parts were fine. If you use an m16 hammer, you either cut the hammer narrower or you widden the mouth of the trigger box a little.

What is your trigger guard? I really like if!

So I have not heard but are any more of these going to be coming? I know they had some issues but I would still like to get one. Nice looking build OP just makes me want one all the more LOL.

I swapped the quad rail handguard for a slimmer one. I like it even more now. It shoots extremely straight. No issues with it at all now that the mag well is fixed when i put it together
