SLR tips, tricks and observations

Am I missing something here ? I've tried three different lower parts kits and the hammers won't clear the trigger "box" there seems to be no instructions provide or available on line either.
Help?

I finally got my shipping notification that my first SLR is coming. Doing a light precision build with my 1.8lb 18.5" Rise 416R barrel, V7 Hyperlight HG, Brownells lightweight BCG, Geissele SSA-E.

Does anyone have one of the freshly "improved" uppers yet that can comment on whether they require filing or not, and any other changes ?

Bombsquad is this the Rise barrel you are going to use? I've had my eye on it for a while now but can't find much info about them.

That's the one. Beware that it's about as close as you can cut it to 470mm, I measured it just under 471mm... it's not 18.8", that's for sure.

I'll post some results when I get it together. It's been sitting in my closet for months and it seems like a quality piece, but I don't know who builds them for Rise and I couldn't find very many reports on them.

Tip:

The takedown bolt is similar to the grip bolt but is polished with a smaller head. Some have reported that This bolt has loosened off during use followed by falling out of the receivers after dissembling due to the head size missing by the captive srew. I have found that switching it to a regular grip bolt with a rougher texture and larger head works on receivers that have had issues. Keeping the bolt and threads free of oil is also a benefit.

I've been on the fence with all the new NR cool rifles, but the more I think about it, the SLR seems the best option. Yes a $1000 receiver set is pricy, but most high end restricted sets are that price as well. If you have an AR already, now you have a NR AR!

Modern Sporter is the appropriate choice.

In your opinion?

Once I receive my Stag that is in the mail I can give an honest opinion towards all three. So far there is zero wrong with the SLRs which have a very sleek looking profile without any pins. As for the Stag I can see the forged receivers looking more like the real deal compared to the MS and SLR billets. I agree the quality in the MS is top notch.

I think you probably can’t go wrong either way. The Stag is definitely the best value though. Sure like that forward assist sticking out of the side, and the fit and finish is excellent. I don’t have any problems with my SLR either but I was blown away the stag came with a parts kit installed for $630.

Very good value.

The stock trigger pack is making me crazy!!!! I am totaly unable to install my trigger parts in it!!

Where can I see which trigger kits fit in without any problems? I am starting to be fed up to encounter a new problem every time I take my build to the next step!!

####ty trigger pack, missing charging handle notch, incredibly hard to install roll pins!!

Ffs I just want to shoot my new nr rifle before it gets banned buy those liberal ####ers!!!!

What trigger group are you trying to install?

None. I’m just trying to insall a stock ar-15 trigger that I bought on True North Arms in the slr’s trigger pack that comes with it.

But right now I’m starting to wonder if the problem is the cheap trigger...

Anyway I don’t want to risk buying another one. I’m gonna drop a complete aftermarket trigger pack if I can be 100% sure it’ll fit right in without anymore tinkering.
