At last, my dream of a non-restricted SA20 is here! Kind of. Bascially stripped my Colt SA20, and built up my SLR with the parts. Overall I'm very happy with the build, in the fact that I can now take this out to the field for a hunt. However, I haven't actually had a chance to shoot it yet, so I am not sure if my locking bolt will vibrate loose or not. I would say the SLR build quality is ok. It has a very tight upper to lower fit, which is great and all; however pin holes are tight, and the mag well seems tight as well. I've been ridiculously happy with my original Modern Varmint, so I am really look forward to doing this build on a MS receiver set. However, for now, this will do!

Awesome build - I've considered buying an SA20 just for that. I think that's every bit as good as it gets, and it's NR. Definitely keep the FRT info handy. It's been a very long time since Canadians were able to go out in the bush with anything that close to our service rifle.

Oh that’s a ###y rifle. I’m building one off an MS later this year. 20” M16 style is my favourite. Even more so with carry handle sights. I have all the stuff to assemble these SLR or MS guns so if anyone in the GVA needs help putting theirs together, hit me up a PM.

That gun is gone, though I just did the same thing with a Modern Sporter. This SLR had an Aimpoint PRO and PAQ4 on the handguard, with Colt flip up BUIS.

Sadly I had a leaky battery in the PAQ4, so she be dead now. Public Service Announcement to NEVER LEAVE BATTERIES IN ANY OPTICS!!!!

I wouldn't worry about the locking bolt, IMO. I also have an SLR; I keep checking that bolt after range time but it's yet to move at all.

Sharp looking rifle though!
