slug accuracy - where to start?

I have high confidence out to 100yards shooting regular old Winchester Super X 1oz rifled slugs from my Rem 1100 with a 20" smooth bore and IC choke. Federal Tru balls group a little better at 50yds but show more drop at 100.Rem sluggers do not group as well and the Challengers proved to be unusable for some reason.
 
I have been happy with the Winchester Super X, 2 3/4" shells, in my 870, 28" smooth bore with a IC choke. I'm in line with the rest of the guys here, try a few out and see what works best with your set up.
 
I strongly suspect those Challengers don't do as well as Brennekes or Lightfields (at the longer distances, smoothbore,iron sights) because the company that developed them put less effort into R&D. Brennekes have been around since 1932 or thereabouts, and Lightfield has had lots of domestic competition from the get-go.
