Slug diameter?

Can anyone tell me the diameter of a 20ga and 12ga slug?

I think 12g is about 70 cal, but not sure about the 20g.

12g is .50 cal

There is a difference between the 12 ga slugs. Those that are saboted are often .50 caliber and the sabot makes up the difference in barrel diameter to ensure a tight fit in the bore. The full diameter foster, Brenneke, and Challenger slugs are about .72", but there are small differences between manufacturers.

The 20 ga. should be about .60" as the bore diameter is .615"

I pulled some 1 oz Fed and Win slugs.

The Win Slug is .715 cross the ribs and .722 across the skirt (at the back)

The federals are .720 across the ribs and .732 across the skirt

No Choke is .729 or there abouts
An IC choke is .720
Mod is about .710
Full about .694

btw you can shoot a saboted slugs in a smoothbore with a mod choke right?
