Slug gun vs shotgun - Hunting regs

In the eyes of the MNR, is a rifled slug gun considered a rifle or shotgun when hunting in a shotgun only area?

I'm looking at picking up a Savage slug gun to complement an ulti-mag i currently own (but can't shoot slugs without getting a barrel - something something overbored 12ga)
