The majority of the areas open to me for hunting in Southern Ontario (private land with landowner's permission) are archery and shotgun/muzzleloader areas only when it comes to hunting deer.

I'm now looking into purchasing a shotgun, with a rifled barrel, that will be exclusively used for slugs.

I've been looking at the Remington 870, Browning BPS and Benelli Nova, all in their respective rifled barrel/slug gun configurations.

I currently own a Browning BPS that I use for waterfowl and turkey hunting, so it's a platform I'm familiar with.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these models or can offer other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I have owned or shot all of the above... the most accurate pump or semi/auto sluggun on the market right now is a Beretta ES-100 ( stainless steel insert in the rifled barrels  ).... . The Browning has a heavy walled rifled slug barrel which works excellent if you keep them clean... the Nova's are excellent as well... the Remingtons are hit or miss with regard to accuracy.
I am still waiting for the barrel for my SBE

I own a Savage Slug Warrior that is fully rifled and is a bolt action. It is very accurate, shooting either 3" or 2 3/4" Winchester BRI slugs. I am waiting for the Hornady SST slugs to become available to see how they perform with my gun. I have it topped with a Bushnell Elite 3200 scope and am very happy with it. I took a nice doe with it this deer season!

The benelli nova I have seems great with NO functioning problems ever..handles nice too.Not sure on the others you mentioned but i did have a lot of jamming problems with 2 defenders..the sights on the nova seem nice as well, and the recievers are usually drilled and tapped for a scope.

BPS slug gun

Why not just get a slug brl. for your BPS. I have a friend that carries one for bears and is quite happy with it.
take care
