slug gun

Are you serious? 3.5" slugs? Tear the shoulder right off ya! There goes accuracy........Lemme guess dude, you shoot a super magnum short, fat wonder round in centerfire to bag a 100 lb. whitetail?

O.k. Sarcasm over. Sorry. If you could find/load those shells, maybe a rifled choke? I've never seen a 3 1/2 " slug barrel advertised or catalogued in any of the places I looked before I got my 3" fully rifled pipe.

Mossberg 535 combo comes with the fully rifled barrel, pretty sure it's 3 1/2 " chamber, i don't know if you could find 3 1/2 " slugs anywhere

Lightfield did make the 3.5 slug, hard to find in Canada. I tried last year unsuccessfully to find some (for the heck of it). Thought they may work better in my Mossberg 835 ulti-mag.

Unsure if Mosberg makes the 3.5 inch slug barrel for 870.

ok so i have a supermag 870 (the one in my sig) however i do not yet have a rifle.
so which 3.0" slug do you feel is the best bang for the buck?
i want something very accurate

The one that shoots best in your gun!! Have to try a few.

Sabot slugs? Buckhammer price to accuracy good. Remington copper solids 3" , work well too. My gun liked both, I now use a Winchester full lead BRI sabot.

I found the 3" slugs worked better in my 3.5" chamber than 2.75" slugs. I figure its due to the distance from the chamber to the rifled barrel?

I've shot a ton of different slugs and have never found anything that shot better the a 2.75" Winchester supreme with the 385 gr partition gold slug. Benchrest groups under 4" at 200 yards. The 3 inch slugs typically don't stabilize well enough out of most guns and I'd hesitate to even try a 3.5" slug if only for the fact that recoil directly affects accuracy......
