I sighted in my shotgun today with a new slug Winchester 3" BRI 1 oz slug. Using fully rifled Cantilever barrel with a fixed power scope.

I consistently put 2 rounds through each others hole at 105 yards 1 inch off bullseye but then the next 2 shots again in same hole but 2' lower and 2 inches to the left.

Does anyone know why this may be, I don't think I could put two flyers in same hole consistently, I had a good rest for the gun and little to no flinch factor.

The BRI slugs are as good a sabot as you can get.The BRI stands for ballistic research industries.Winchester bought the company a few years ago.
If they are still made with the original specs as BRI they are a good slug if winchester changed the recipe then i'm not sure. I still have a good supply of the BRI slugs.

i have pretty much the same setup, and had alot of variation.
1. tighten up your scope rings (mine worked themselves loose). i am thinking of blue locktight now.
2. clean between: every three shots (plastic buildup)
3. try a slower fps in the 1400 fps range (so your going down to 1 oz slugs and 2.75" shells)
4. barrel heating may be a factor, pay attention to the first cold bore shot, thats the one you will be using hunting.

Before going to range I figured I'd check my scope mounts. Found to be loose on one side. Then I stripped the nut:mad:

Put on a new set of mounts and went got this. Unfortunately only had a few rounds to sight i with, got more coming but its better.

Thanks for the advice.

Try above suggestions as well as cleaning barrel between shots. You might be surprised.
I agree with this also. I happened to have my chronograph set up when I sighted in my 11-87 with 21" rifled barrel. First shot with clean cold barrel was 1552 fps with Win. 3" Rackmaster in 12g. I had other things going so it was well over 5 min. till the next shot and it registered only 1410 fps. The next shot in 2 min. was 1426 fps. I cleaned the barrel and A - was surprised how little powder was left in the barrel and B - was surprised how much plastic sludge came out after a brief soaking. I repeated this sequence two more times and all the clean barrel shots were above 1530 fps and the fouled barrel velocities dropped by at least 110 fps. POI also dropped by +/- 1.5" @ 75 yds with the dirty barrel. I don't think it will make much difference in the field at the modest ranges usually associated with slug-guns but I now know to allow for drop with my first few follow-up shots (if I even get that lucky this year).

Glad to hear you have solved your puzzle!

I have had great success with the BRi's and 3" Remington Copper Solids. The Copper Solids gave the best accuracy in my barrel so that's what I've used for the past couple of years. The Remington Managed Recoil Buckhammer's punch a HUGE hole on paper! I havent tried them on deer (yet) but I'll bet they work well also.

There are two Super-X sabot slugs (Partition Gold & Silvertips) that didn't produce good enough accuracy on a cold barrel. Once things got heated-up after a couple of shots (at the range) they were great - actually very good! That very important cold-barrel shot was out by quite a bit - enough I can't use them.

So, it's important to check the point of impact and accuracy with slugs - just like any other ammo!
