Slugging a barrel

For additional info google "slugging a barrel" and you will find a plethora of views on how to do this.

If you a have a Lee-Enfield or P14 barrel chambered for the .303 British, you will have no problem with lead or jacketted bullets in the .310-.312 range

"...a 1/4 inch dowel..." Wooden dowels tend to break and get stuck in the barrel when you whack 'em. Doesn't happen with a 1/4" brass or Al rod.
The hole in your sinker is likely being crushed to well under size before anything else happens. Lose the shim too.
"...good to use .312 cast bullets?..." Use one of 'em to slug the barrel.
"...If you a have a Lee-Enfield...will have no problem with..." Lee-Enfield barrels vary in size. That's the whole point of slugging it.

I just want to make sure I did it right :) Also, I've been looking for moulds, and i wasn't sure if i should try to find a .312 tumble lube, as most sizing dies are either 311 or 313 that I have found. I don't want to size them down to .311 if i need 312 or 313 bullets! I notice that lyman makes a 314 200gr mould, and thought maybe i could polish the inside of a sizer to .312.
