Hey all,
I'm going to hunt a bear with a slug gun I built and want to sight my scoped 2 3/4 inch 870 w/20 inch fully rifled barrel in.... I have shot low recoil slugs out of it and they did not agree with it accuracy wise....
Any suggestions for food for my barell... I know I should by rights try a whack out, but I only have crappy tire and waldo mart in my area with no specialty stores...
Winchester, Feds, and the like....

Who can help me out... and what should I get for accuracy at 50/100yds?
Cheers nutz....:shotgun:

+1 on the Platinums, my father shoot them in his Win 1300 slug gun, great groups at 100 yards.

We also tried Fed Barnes and Remington copper solid, liked Winchester better, recoil and grouping. Live test on a 4-pointer at 40 yards 2 years ago was decisive, shot at vitals, poor animal did 20 yards and dropped like a rock!

Good luck!

You can do just fine with regular sabots if they are all you can afford. At 100yds I group 3-4" groups. That does knock down the big deer. I have shot with the slug gun deer at 120yrds. This year I have moved up to the winchester supremes Partition golds. They should extend my range a little if needed.
Best of luck.
