I don't play with shotguns very much. I have a quantity of cast lead slugs I bought at a gunshow. They look like giant 177 air rifle pellets. Flat point with a waist.

I loaded them up with 25 gr of unique. About 1200fps over my Chrony. Nice plinking load.

I shot them off sandbags at 50 yards. Both shotguns have been bobbed, so there is no choke and no front sight.

Both shot a 2 shot group of under 2". This suggest to me that if I installed some kind of front sight, like a simple bead, the accuracy might even be better. I had no idea a smoothbore could shoot so well.

Looks good. I am currently working up a slug suitable for my Ithaca 37. It is a smooth bore and I am just trying factory slug offerings at this time.Both your guns would benefit from sights but those groups will be hard to better.

very nice grouping i am casting my own slugs and loading them in 3dram preloaded shells for shots i am surprised with the grouping i got too
