Hi again,
So I got an excellent new source of bait this week and re baited the pile on Thursday.
I had seen a coyote from the road on the bait at 130 pm on Wed. I was under a deadline and had no time
to go play with it : ) .
Thursday afternoon I finished up my job at the farm and hit the shack. I had a really good feeling and was itching.
At 450 pm a Coyote came from behind me on my right and walked right in front of the Shack at 46 yards!!.
I was smoking a cigarette and had my feet on the other chair of course. It looked right at the smack shack twice and when it looked away
the 2nd time I smacked it with my Remington 7615P.223 . I had managed to put out the Players and get my rifle without it spooking.
The Yote took off like lightning after stumbling a bit, straight across the soybean field heading west. I watched him for a couple seconds expecting it
to pile up, but then as he was eating up real estate fast I hit him again at 116 yards. spun him 360 in the field and was still acting game so he got another.
Game over.
As it happens, the grocery store manager that is supplying the scraps was driving by as I was throwing it in the truck. He has booked a seat.
I started a second site as I have built the Smack Shack 2.
Stay tuned.....
I also learned how to resize pictures tonight.

As u can see, I rushed the first shot and hit him to low and back. Hence the running like the wind.

Gratuitous selfie

Hi Farmer,
Just look down the list under hunting and see my 1st Smack Shack Post for Shack details.
I really like that rifle. It has 3 coyotes and a fox to its credit. Very accurate and handy carbine.
I also use a Remington 760 in 6.5x55 Swedish when the mood strikes.
I just got my grandpa's old Savage .222 out of the vault and shined it up. Time to try old school I think.
It works great on crows, but I have never shot a Yote with it yet. I missed 1 last year with it, when I was baiting without
the Shack.
Tonight I watched a Big red tailed hawk chow down on some pork ribs till dark. Always entertaining.

That 760 in 6.5x55 swede, wouldn't happen to have been purchased on the EE? Previously known as the ugly duckling.

Way 2 Go with Smack Shack 2 !!!
Looks like that yote on the tailgate was exhailing its last breath when you snapped that selfie ;)
Hope you have many more yote smacking days left this season and pictures and stories to go along with your posting.
Rob

I bought from a member but it was not posted on the EE.
I absolutely love the rifle. Super accurate, mild recoil, lots of punch.
Plus not many people have them so its unique.

If thats the one I thinking of, I darn near bought it. Still kickin myself for passing it up. Keep me in mind if you decide you don't like it.

Nice work, hopefully another yote will show up in range soon. How about a pic of your smack shack, I'm curious as to what it looks like.
