Small Base Dies

I have been reloading for my Tikka T3 Varmint in .223 in some once fired brass I picked up and I'm only able to close the bolt on about 70% of the cartridges I load!
If the brass has been fired in another rifle, this may be your problem. Try new brass and keep it separated to a specific rifle.

ya none of this brass I bought from a gunshop had been fired in my Tikka so it seems like I can only use the stuff I shoot out of it to reload otherwise I could go through a lot of bullet pulling! My buddy has a Savage predator in .223 as well, I'm curious to see if these "reject" handloads of mine will chamber in his either. It's possible the Tikka is just machined with really close tolerances or something.
I don't really want to buy SB dies since the pacesetter ones work fine for me on all the brass I've fired myself. Guess I just have to buy new brass or factory ammo to make my handloads.
I just bought a Garand and am going to need to find dies for it. I'll probably just go with the full length ones for it as well.

I have reloaded for a friend with a Tikka in .270 and if I don't use his brass, he will have chambering and extraction problems. And I full length resize all the time. I have had no problem with reloads in either of our 2 Parker Hale .270s or my brother's Rem 700.

For many years (more than I wish) SOME rifles of the lever and auto variety have required SB dies. In fact XSB dies were avaliable and needed in some Browning auto's.
When Browning brought out the auto and levers that was the first I started using these.
Found out they worked great in some Winchester 100’s and 88’s also the Remington pump and auto.
Some of the 223 brass will have been fired in a auto. I am sure a pass through SB dies will solve most problems in chambering.
RCBS will make any die you want in SB however leave lots of time for delivery of dies
Amassing what you learn in 47 years of reloading.
