Small bore double rifle.

Just a couple of thoughts...

While it is not a rimmed case, the 275 H&H is an interesting cartridge, that would also give you more performance in a 7mm cartridge over the 7x57. (160 gr @ 2700 fps)

Or the 280 Ross. This is a rimmed case that can also drive a 160 gr bullet to 2700 fps as well.

I always prefer a rimmed round vs the alternative. I have had the extractor slide over a rimless round...then you have issues to get the sucker out. 7x57R I feel is a wonderful round for double rifles at all reasonable ranges, even scoped.

I would go that route myself, especially on the hammer gun. So much versatility & class in a light package.

I also would go with a rimmed cartridge. A couple of decades back on a table at a local B.C. gunshow I saw a real nice condition .303 British SXS double by a well known English maker. Two young guys had it and didn't seem to know much about it or its value. They were not asking all that much for it, but at the time I still thought I couldn't afford it and passed it up. I never saw them or the rifle again. Regret.

A set of 7x57r barrels for their Iside hammer gun would be fun to have. I already have a SXS in 30R Blaser though, and I wouldn't particularly want one of those in the Iside configuration. I had that gun in hand on a combo set a few yrs ago at the Calgary gun show, and felt it was too light then, for the 30R, which is what is was, 30R/20ga. Seeing as you have the 9.3, may as well go to the 7x57R, 140gr, would be really nice to shoot, but, that depends on if they are willing to regulate it with them, or not.

I have asked for regulation, with a 154-162 gr, soft point splitzer, 156 Norma oryx,
160 game king, 162 A-max, all fine by me,
The A-Max, have performed well for me, in my 7x57 at 2650fps, I be happy to continue with sumthing Similer.
I've got six months, to get a few rounds and sum brass, should be a lot more pleasant to shoot and particle for much of the hunting I do, except the high mountains, chasing Thar,

My 7x57 shoot 160 gr bullets @2700fps aswell. A healthy dose of IMR 4350 and a Mauser 98 or Ruger #1 action does the trick.

My Raick Freses Double Rifle comes with two sets of barrels. It's also a light rifle. The second set of barrels can be carried over the shoulder in a leather case.

- One set of barrels is 8x57 IRS which is a rimmed version of the 8x57
- Second set of barrels is 20 ga shotgun

Picked up a new set of Fair 7x57R barrels, this morning, plus a few goddies to get up and running.
I should go sight it in the scope, but its -30 here, and being warm, seams like a better idea, epically after 14 days work in the cold.

The wait was a bit longer than expected, but it looks likes like it was well worth it. Very nice project!
