Small game hunting (very small!) with Annie

When a fly settled on a target 50 yards away that I had been shooting at with my Anschutz 1422, I couldn't resist the opportunity to do some very small game hunting. One round of Eley Tenex splattered him all over the target. His remains:

Now try at 100 metres. :d This was a sighting in target at 100 metres, just dialed in to the x-ring and a housefly landed, splat no more fly. Ammo was Center X from a full custom benchrest 22.
 
We had a lot of wasps a couple of years ago so I took an old piece of fish and rubbed very small bits on a piece of paper and stuck it up on a target frame. Lots and lots of baited "game" fell for this, huge fun. A friend uses drops of pop on a white rag and gets flies and wasps to shoot and what is really fun is if you set it up so the sun shines from the back you can see the shadows of the ones that land on the back side and you can shoot them right through the rag.
 
My first 22 was a model 1450, and I still have...and shoot that rifle. Today, every time I think about getting another centerfire rifle, I keep coming back to the idea of getting a modern Anschutz bolt gun like a 64. My CZ452 is my current favorite, but it's anxiously waiting to be put on gopher duty in Alberta. :)
 
These are wonderful firearms indeed. If I had not stumbled upon a LH Browning Micro Hunter in 22 Hornet, an Annie would have been my next choice in a bolt action Hornet.

Presently an old ES350b Mauser fulfills my 22 rimfire bolt rifle itch. I love it, but it's a weighty beast compared to any sporter Anschutz.
 
I thought catch and release with chopsticks was the preferred method of dealing with houseflies?
This is going to be hard on the drywall!
