seen a small martini receiver on the ee a little while ago and couldn't help my self ,so I bought it and used up my last parts and had to make a few.Found a nice board at Windsor plywood here locally a few months ago and used it for the stock .

I do not have a 357 mag reamer but do have a 357 max so that's why its that .test fired with max and it just extracts ,but with 357 mag it ejects as it is shorter
not quite a 350 L but close enough
here are some pics so far

We've had the pleasure of seeing photos of some gorgeous rifles over the last few months, and this promises to be another. A color case hardened receiver would be nice, but a deep luster blue works too.

That little action is plenty strong enough for the 357 Maxi.

I had similar issues with mine, concerning ejection, so I cut back the tenon and put the barrel onto a full sized action.

Still the little action was just begging for something ###y. I had a nice take off Remington 25 caliber barrel that had been chambered in 257 Rob but the chamber was crooked.

A now deceased (to many of those) friend had a very nice reamer that utilized the 357 Max case but necked down to 257. Of course, 257 Maxi.

The 25 Maxi extracts really well because of the smaller neck. It also makes for a very handy little carry about rifle with enough energy on target to cleanly take Deer and Black Bears with 87gr monolithics.

The Martini trigger can be a bit rough and creepy. With some proper stoning, your rifles trigger can be made very crisp and clean, although a bit heavy.

Like your rifle, I also put on a Long Eye Relief scope. Leupold fixed 2.5.

If an when you come across a 357 magnum reamer, take the time to set back the barrel.

Lovey little rifle.

IMHO, Martini design rifles are very underappreciated these days. Not ###y enough for the youngsters and unless they watched the Zulu war movies they've likely never seen them before.

They were likely one of the best and strongest military, single shot actions of their time IMHO.

The max is kind of a whim thing as I had just enough parts to finish one last action once I found a receiver .
The walnut plank caught my interest at Windsor and was around 85 with tax .All my other martinis have short fore ends and this one a bit longer surprisingly comes up nice and fills my hand nicely .
Have to bend the lever to match the grip and put an escuction under the barrel to attach the fore end
Thanks

finished the execution and bending ,mounted scope and to put on paper

My baby Martini was in 17 Ackley Bee. Everything was done by Bevan King, and that little rascal was admired by everyone who saw it. They all wanted to shoot it, and were quite enthralled with the absence of any recoil, and fine accuracy.

Why, oh why, do we succumb to the temptation to let those really unique rifles leave home?

those little martinis are way under appreciated.

I bought an Australian in 310 cadet with the intention of building a 357Mag but when I got it home it was just too nice to mess with.

I'm always on the look out for another that is cheap enough that I wont cry over it.

Now if someone would design and produce a mid sized martini action.... oh and at a reasonable price.

I recall seeing in another thread that someone out there is building full sized actions or is planning on it but the price was a tad bit more then I want to spend
