Small pair of binos

1st of all- I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I just assumed. (And I don't visit this section at all)

Anyways, its come to my attention, that a small pair of binoculars would benefit my cause, not only for the application in which I'll use it for, but also, for range use, etc.

Now, I don't need anything too big, but I'd like something thats powerful enough to see clearly out to just over 100 yards.

Tips? Advice? Recommendations?

Budget will dictate a lot, you can spend $50 on a set of junk binos from Canadian Tire that will get you to 100 yards, or the sky is the limit. For a good quality bino for a reasonable price, look at the Vortex Diamondback 8 or 10X42. The 8X will give you plenty of magnification power, and will also give you less percieved movement/shake while viewing your target/prey, plus in the same conditions with the same quality of binos, 8X is brighter than 10X so it will be more useful in low light conditions.

Looking to spend no more than $150.

Look at the Nikon action series.... something in the 8x range would begood for what you are asking them to do....

I keep a pair of cheap binocs in each vehicle. I'm into wildlife and bird observation, so it's handy to have a pair when you see something in a field. You don't have to buy the expensive ones either.

Take a look at the Nikon travel-lites.

Don't be tricked into buying 10X or 12X though. For that price and size, you'll want low mirror to maximize the amount of light you take it.

If you can find them, I would personally buy the vortex diamondback 8X28s every time. Decent glass, great warranty. You can get em at wholesale sports for $160. Looks like this:
