What is your definition of small?
Do you mean for someone with small hands or a compact pistol?
Since barrel length must be at least 108mm or 4 1/8" you won't find and really "small" pistols unless they're prohibited.

A J frame Smith is an obvious choice for a small handgun. Mostly they have 2"-3" barrels, but this isn't a problem if you hold a 12.6 PAL, although you don't make that clear in your post. Click on P&D above, they have a prohibited handgun section you can buy from.

HK P7M8

Glock 19
HK P2000
Sig P239

(All above have 107MM barrel, Glock 19, it sticks out the least)

1911 in CCO configuration: 4.25" barrel, officer's frame.

If you don't mind the barrel sticking out you could look for one of the baby Glocks: G26, G27 in 9mm or .40 if you want something really small with a larger caliber.

but were would you find (one of the baby Glocks: G26, G27)?

You would find them at Questar, Sporteque, or Police Ordnance.

They will not be 12.6 grandfathered, so they will need to have an aftermarket barrel - such as a barrel made by Lone Wolf, IGB, Storm Lake, EFK, or Bar-Sto - of the minimum legal length.

You want small go antique:D

I've got an H&R in .32RF that literally fits in my hand. Of course ammo is a ##### to find and costs an arm and a leg...

Seriously though I love my P7. Small and accurate.

Or on the EE ;)

You can agree to buy a 12.6 that would be sent to a smith to be rebarreled and then transfered into your name. Lots of ways to get a smaller pistol.

+1 on antiques. .32 rimfire is hard to find factory loads for, but if you shop at any better hardware store you're probably walking right past some excellent and inexpensive ammo. Read the antique forum.

Otherwise it's converted Prohibs. The HK P7 is very nice but I'd hardly call it a pocket pistol...
