Small primer pockets - 9mm luger

Anyone else noticed that cartridges with the headstamp 9mm luger FC NT do not fit standard winchester pistol primers (small).

I was able to jam 1-2 in using my lee safety prime, but later discarded them.

FC-NT???? fc ususally stand for federal no idea about the other part but it sounds like it might have crimped in primers n which case you will need to ream the primer pocket before relaoding....

"NT" is "non toxic" (non-lead and i suppose low in other 'toxins'), and the primer pockets on those are crimped.

Fed NT and Blaser ammo come with crimped primers and need to have the pockets swaged prior to loading.

And people laugh at me for buying a 1050.

you can get a special "swaging die that can do this or use a reamer ive never tired it but i would imagine reamind say 1000 brass might get repetitive....

Take a standard chamfer tool, chuck it in your drill, bingo. Reaming tool. Don't take too much off. If you have thousands to do, get the Dillon Super Swage 600 - or a 1050 press!

Its just the odd case that turns up in a lot of 1000 mixed brass that I bought.

That should do the trick.

sunray, I've been seeing more and more Federal NT brass around. Saw a box of Federal NT ammo for the first time the other at the range, totally different design than the regular boxes.
