Looking for something with less kick/noise then my .308. Not to mention a bit cheaper to shoot too. I am getting in to reloading so cost of ammo will be no worry.
Something like a 22-250, .223, .25-06 or .243 This will be a Left Hand bolt action. I have my levers and now want to try a different style of action. I've checked out a few companies but it seems that only Remington or the Browning A bolts are available left hand and in all calibers between the two companies. Granted Websites are notoriously incorrect.

Which caliber would be better and are there any other guns that shoot the calibers mentioned with a left hand action. Every company has these calibers I'm looking for LEFT HAND guns only. I'm only in the looking stage as I expended all my finances on getting my present guns.

Thanks for your help

Have you considered a 7mm-08.Little recoil. Savage 14,comes LH. Very nice gun with great accurancy. Dabbler

Both CZ and Tikka make left hand bolt actions in .223. Either of them would fill the bill. (I have lefties in both makes).

Lh 223

Crazy,

Lots more than Rem or Browning to chose from.

I cant' stand the A-Bolt, so we won't go there.

Rem has a better than ever selection for '08. I have a LH CDL in 223, great little rifle.

Savage has by far the most LH offerings of any manufacter. Lots of calibers and several configurations. ( I don't own one, but should, just cause of how they support us southpaw shooters.:))

CZ has the dandy 527 in 223 or 204. Also the 452 is available LH, in 22RF or 17HMR. CZ are one of my favs.

Tikka has a pretty good selection of calibers. (Been there, done that.)

One of my other favs, Ruger, has a 25-06 in SS/Lam or Blued/Wood. Also several bigger calibers.

My advice would be to get yourself a real nice 223. Tons of fun to shoot.....LOTS. Best thing a person can do to improve their shooting skills IMO. A 22RF and a 223. You've already got the big game covered with your 308, so I'd say a varminter/paper puncher in 223 would serve you well.... Good Luck.

I have three Savages in left hand. My latest build is a heavy barrel .223 that shoots like a friggen lazer beam! I really like the actions and the ease at which you can change barrels and calibers. The adjustable trigger is a nice touch as well. Since I built that .223, my Tika 595 lefty in .223 sits in the cabinet and taunts me.

"...Looking for something with less..." To do what? Hunt or just shooting for fun? The .223 is fun, relatively inexpensive to shoot and will do for varmints. A .243 isn't as inexpensive to shoot with factory ammo, but can be reloaded easily for up to deer sized game, black bear and varmints.

I'm looking for a gun that's not as rough on the shoulder my shooting skill matches the .308 just. I'd like something thats not as much gun for both target and hunting depending on the caliber I pick. If its gun enough I'd also use it deer hunting. So if a .223 it would never see action on anything other then varmint control. Where as the .243 would be used to take down deer along with varmints. I am just looking for companies that make LEFT HAND guns in the calibers mention in my first post.

For real good accuracy and less kick, consider the 260 Rem. A 6.5-08.

A Savage or Stevens can be made to shoot well. A Remington 7600 pump works well for a lefty. Out of the box, more accurate than most bolt rifles. The safety can be flipped over so it pushes off easily for a lefty.

Remington youth 243 is the route I'd go. Add a McMillan Edge as funds allow and you'll have a heck of a rifle. I may go that route with a 7-08 myself.

Just the other day I ordered a left hand CZ 527 in .204 Ruger. I've not recieved it yet so I can't comment on it much. I will tell you why I chose it though.

It's true short action gun. Unlike other short action guns the CZ is perfectly scaled for the small cartridges. I really hate how there's so much extra space in the action and magazine of my wife's rem 700 in .223.

It has a removable magazine.

Legendary accuracy.

What I didn't like about it? Paying over $200 more for the lefty version.
