My wife is kind of sensitive to smells so you can imagine how she feels about Hoppes #9. Any suggestions for an alternative. Gotta get lead and carbon out as well as something for copper.
Thanks for all the suggestions in advance.

Get her a Hoppes air freshener so she gets used to the scent...

Hoppes Elite products have far less odor than the original. I've used their copper remover with some success.

Yup, i'm with the guys about the nice smell of Hoppes #9 good stuff. Some womens perfume sends me running away though. #9 isn't offensive, try geving her a sniff of Sweet's 7.62 bore cleaner, the ammonia will clear the sinus cavities quick.

Ya, Hitzy is bang on. If smell is a problem then I'd use the foaming bore cleaner from GunSlick. No odour. It's not the best on lead but works well on copper and powder residue. I find you need several applications and a brush to remove lead but it does come out.

My wife has the same issue with Hoppes. She hates the smell.
Wipeout is fine with her & although I have not tried it,
Frog Lube is supposed to be good also.

For fast effective cleaning, get WipeOut. A squirt in the muzzle and it will foam all the way back to the chamber, if you cover the muzzle with your thumb. leave the gun muzzle down over night and wipe clean the next day.

or give it a squirt at the range and wipe clean when you get home.

For action cleaning and barrel protection, G96 is excellent and has a very pleasant odor.

Frog Lube smells like Spearmint. 100 percent natural too.

I use Wipe Out for bore cleaning. Don't really notice a smell on that, but it kinda smells like wd 40

Froglube is great, I use it myself. But it doesn't do sh*t against copper and lead. So maybe a foaming cleaner in conjunction with Froglube.
