I wish you a very happy birthday. Any chance that one day I can shoot your Arisaka that shoots "4 of 4 on a nickel at 145"? With Irons???
That said, they can be shockingly-accurate. I have a (Arisaka) Type 38 here, a Rifle, which was a rescue case, dumped on me by a dealer for free because he wanted to "raise the quality of his junk rack". I steamed out more than 100 dents in the woodwork and removed most of a PINT of motor-oil from the wood. With Norma factory ammo, it put 4 out of 4 onto a NICKEL at 145 yards, iron sights, off the bags.

I am 33 and I very much enjoy my milsurp rifles/red rifles. I get very excited every time I find a thread with Smellie in it. I just want to thank you for all the info and education that you share with the rest of our community. Happy belated B Day and thanks again.
