Does anyone think the lovely SMG replica FG-42s will ever cross the boarder? I know the price tag would be quite high, but pricey things like semi auto MG 34s, M60s, and G 36s have all weaseled their way in. I've been drooling over the lovely rifle Ian at Forgotten Weapons has been slinging around lately.

Are you sure that was an SMG remake and not one of the earlier Sport Dietrich (sic) semi-auto clones out of Germany?

I've not heard of one of the SMG type G rifles crossing the border, it was my understanding that SMG did not register with ITAR as an exporter. I have been wondering if the change to have firearms managed by the State Dept. will mean some might start moving up here.
Pretty sure the gun at SFRC was one of the SSD type E repros, there were a dozen of those imported several years ago.
