Hi,folks!
K-31 just arrived couple of days ago so I grab two boxes of Wolf Gold 175gr. cartridges at Cabela's and take the beast to the range today...
Here comes BIG surprise:all I can get from this rifle was 6" grouping/100Y.
Those guns are known as very accurate shooters,so Im wondering what the ...
And before I shot it I clean and inspect the rifle carefully so I can said that the
bore is in exc.condition.So,the only suspect(in my opinion) is the ammo.
What kind of ammo will be the best for this gun or whats the best powder/bullet combination for reloads?

Thanks in advance
Zygy

Ammo MIGHT be a problem but I would think the action screws and barrel band screws would be the first thing to look at.

Front action screw: tight

Rear action screw back off 1/8-1/4 turn from tight

Rear barrel band: Leaf spring detent should not be restricted, loosen up the screw until the spring moves freely.

Front barrel band:depends on that particular rifle, looser is usually better, but not always.

If you thoroughly cleaned the barrel, it might take a few more rounds to lay down an even coating again.

Check the crown, and if possible the throat area.

I personally know of two Schmidt Rubins for sale, not by me. Anyone looking for such? I don't know what model, but both are in nice shape.
