I just got my S&A magwell for my kimber and Im extremely impressed with the quality and refinement of this piece. The magwell replaces your main spring housing and is real low profile for a clean in stall, unlike some of the big tacky looking ones. Also, using the MSH is better than using the grip panel screws for an attachment point IMO. So if any 1911 owners are looking for magwells I recommend S&A. Oh btw I sanded the bottom of mine to give it a brushed look so you can see the scratches from the mags being slammed in.

The only negative about having a magwell is if you use mags without a bump pad or some kind of larger baseplate, its harder to push the mag all the way in due to the extra length of the magwell. If you have a bump pad like my wilson combat mags they will stick out a lil bit which is nice.

Now you need to get yourself a set of square cut grips to fit flush with the magwell.

Navidrex Micarta are tre bella!

Nice work! Are the sights by Meprolight from the factory? I think I'll follow suit on the S&A. I presume everything could be put back to orig. Also, if you have extended aftermarket mags like McCormick will the work with this mod. Lastly, where'd you get it.

S&A mag guides

I think the S&A mag guides are the best period.I had to get some extra gunsmithing on mine so I would have a lanyard loop so I can tie it to my safariland 6004 thigh holster you'd think they's make em that way they don't.I also use wilson mags I think they are the best I tried everything else jobber mags, brand name, after market like chip mcCormick etc.All you need to do now is trade in that kimber for a S&W scandium commander sized 45,lol

Naa I like my kimber its completely reliable and accurate (when someone else is shooting LOL)

I believe the night sites are Meprolight, but Im not 100% sure and yes I can put it back to stock if I wanted to.
