I just got my S&A magwell for my kimber and Im extremely impressed with the quality and refinement of this piece. The magwell replaces your main spring housing and is real low profile for a clean in stall, unlike some of the big tacky looking ones. Also, using the MSH is better than using the grip panel screws for an attachment point IMO. So if any 1911 owners are looking for magwells I recommend S&A. Oh btw I sanded the bottom of mine to give it a brushed look so you can see the scratches from the mags being slammed in.
The only negative about having a magwell is if you use mags without a bump pad or some kind of larger baseplate, its harder to push the mag all the way in due to the extra length of the magwell. If you have a bump pad like my wilson combat mags they will stick out a lil bit which is nice.
