Smith and wessom Model 25: Show and tell

I like the look of the tapered "pencil" barrel. This is one case of the newer S&W being better than the old ones. The old pinned barrel 25s tended to have oversize chamber mouths in both .45 Colt and .45 ACP, which was not conducive to accuracy. Newer guns have much better dimensional tolerances in this regard.

I would also consider the Model 24 in .44 Special.

I like the clean, classic look

Absolutely! A classic revolver. Years ago at a rest stop in California I struck up a conversation with a CHIP officer. We got to talking about guns and he showed me his Model 25 in stainless. I was quite impressed with it. I asked him the calibre and he said .45 Colt all the way. I asked him why and he said because they couldn't have .44 Magnums!

It's a timeless classic. Go for it!!

Got this one made in 1977, a Model 25-2 in 45 ACP. Very accurate, nice trigger. Mine has the straighter slightly heavier barrel. It's a great revolver overall. This picture does not give justice to it's deep deep blueing. I would say it's equal to, or even surpasses the Royal Blue finish of an early made Python. Just be aware that the aftermarket plastic "Rimz" full moon clips. The design has two variants, one for older 25s, and another for newer 25s. Slight variations in the S&W star extractor made this nessecary for jam free operation. I have never personally heard, of anyone complaining about any of the metal half moon, or full moon clips. No matter if it's the Model 25 older or newer, or the 625 series.
