Smith and Wesson 1500 stock

Buddy had an incident with his quad during moose season which resulted in injured pride and a cracked stock on his smith and Wesson 1500 in 7mm rem mag. The stock is cracked beyond repair. Am I correct in thinking a howa 1500 or a vanguard 1 stock will fit? Any other recommended options?

Any LA stock from the Howa 1500 or Vanguard Series I or II will work. Boyds gunstocks makes all kinds of laminate options. You can also check Numrich they will ship to Canada. Posting a WTB ad might work too. I'm sure quite a few people who have swapped them out for a boyds or B&C have them lying around.
