I am looking for a Smith and Wesson handgun with a 10 5/8 in Barrel.

I have read that the Model 27-3 was available in that barrel length but cannot verify this.

Is that barrel length available in a 27-3, or was it only available in a 29-3. I really only wanted to shoot 38 spl at an indoor range!

Your expert advice would be much appreciated.

Mark.

Here's a few S&W 357 Revolvers I have. All 3 are 5 screw pre-model 27's built in the early 1950's.

The top pre-M27 has a 8 3/8" barrel and wears non-relieved diamond center target stocks.
The center pre-M27 has a 6" barrel and wears non-relieved diamond center stocks.
The bottom pre-model 27 has a 5" barrel and wears walnut diamond center coke bottle stocks.

Next is a couple of M29's.

The top M29 has a 6 1/2" barrel and wears relieved diamond center coke bottle rosewood stocks.
The bottom M29-2 has a 4" barrel and wears relieved target stocks.

^ That looks like an 8 3/8" barrel on the 27.

Only the M29 was made with a 10 5/8" barrel and had the 4 position adjustable front.
