Smith and Wesson 4506 jamming issue

Hey there everyone, wondering if any gunsmiths can help me out here. My 4506 intermittently after 4-6 rounds will eject spent shell but then chamber next round but not close slide completely.Doesn't matter what ammo as I've tried different types and cleaned my pistol thoroughly,also cleaned my magazines too.Any thoughts?

you should try a new recoil spring, they are available direct from S&W or from Numrich... I will chase the info down for you. the other option and it is something you should do anyway is mark the mag that the problem occours with and see if it is just the magazine.

the other option is to order a wolfee gun spring, you need the 14lb model (stock for a 4506)

frankly your first phone call should be to S&W customer service and see if they will GIVE you one for free... most companies are good that way.

totally agree. i owned a 4506 & it was a tank, never missed a lick.
if it's not chambering consistantly, i'd replace the recoil spring.

They're nice but....

The 4506 is like an old pickup truck. Still works, is pretty accurate and most people like them, but don't want to own one. Even though the 4506 is better than the 645, they are not in demand and do not command top dollar like the Python.
