Hello, does anyone here on CGN, have any experience with this .357 revolver? Are they worth the money over a standard
686? If I wanted to buy one, could someone point me in the right direction? Thank you!:)

I'm proud to say I do. One of the finest revolvers I know of and i'm glad I have one. Don't think twice about it, just take the plunge!!!

Great tolerances, feel, fit and finish superb!

While I don't own one, one of the weakest points for 357 is the forcing cone... ...thing that the eight shot versions have one that is not centric with the fram threads? Anyone measure the barrel stub on this variant? If memory serves, a K frame will be around a half inch

Talk to Wes at Kelly's Sporting Goods. He gets a shipment in every three weeks. I spoke to him this past Monday about it.

I bought one off Gunbroker and am having it imported by IRUNGUNS. It would have been cheaper for me to talk to Wes first. He can easily get you a 627-5 in stainless for $1299.00.

I have one and love it, you won't regret buying one. My only dislike is that the bead blasted finish is easy to scratch.

Thank you everyone for your input. Thanks to another gentleman from CGN, I was able to find one, and am looking forward to giving it
a try.....

And the new gun for that is the 929/986. Guys are buying 2 & 3 of them, lol.

I'm not sure about that. The 986 is a seven round gun and wouldn't be competitive against eight round guns. (it would be good for ICORE, though) And the 929 has a comp on the end of the barrel.

That would take it out of Revolver Division and put it in Open.

I think the 627 loaded with .38 Colt Short ammo at Minor PF would still be the best choice if shooting Minor in USPSA Revolver Division .

But I'm not sure shooting Minor is the best way to be competitive. Everyone seemed to think when Classic Division came into being that shooting Minor was the way to go. I think that has proven to not be the case.

JM's name is on a lot of S&W products and if you can't figure out why that is, then.... In any case, I'm not into idolatry so it doesn't mean much to me.
