Has anyone handled and shot the new Classic models from Smith and Wesson? The 27 has reallt caught my eye, but I am not sure if they are of the same quality as my 28-2.

Shot, No.

Handled yes. I handled and dropped the hammer on a very nice S&W model 58 41Mag, in blue with a 4inch barrel. Nice. Dropped the hammer on the S&W model 57 with adjustable sights, in nickel, with a four inch barrel. Sweet.
The new S&W revolver stuff is quality. The very nice people at S&w have made the Performance Center 686 Power Port a regular production model.
What are they doing wrong.....

People really are mad about that hole near the cylinder release. just go on the Smith forum, and you will read ton of complaints.

But, still, I haven't handle one classic , but had a 629-6 5inch and a 657 with the lock, and they were as good , as accurate as the other one...but that God dam hole really look out of place.

Im sure the new Smiths are good, but they are really expensive. For hundreds of dollars less, you can find the original old smiths, made with old world craftmanship and finish and without that damn hole and goofy grips.Just doesnt make sense to me!

Unloaded this rare bastard, new and unfired, from a banned CGN member.
Haven't shot it yet but it feels and looks better than my previous duty Smith, and I'll be damned if the SA trigger pull ain't 1lb or less.
