IMO a risk free life is one not worth living.
The wife and I ended up getting his & her's X95 and could not be happier with them. I've long been an AR guy but the X95 has so much going for it, even if AR15's were rendered non-restricted, I'd be keeping my X95.
I heartily concur. The X95 is just made so well and the balance and ergonomics are fantastic. They'll probably bury my X95 with me - I have never once thought of selling it.
I really like the FPC presentation and even packaging. To have 3 magazines included is great. I remember for my Tikka T3x TACT A1, I read all this about US owners getting 3 mags with theirs (2 with the rifle and a third redeemed from manufacturer with included coupon) - but us Canadians got short changed and we only get one (and they are $200 each). I heard this came with 3, and it did. Would have been nice if it was 2 x pinned 17 rounders and a pinned 23 rounder, but happy to take 3 x 10 rounders. The bag is cool, non descript and lots of pockets and it came in the original box.
I will be looking to hang a flashlight and tape switch to mine shortly so will see how much that affects the weight distribution. I have a Romeo 5 on there right now and wanted to add a magnifier, but I'd have to really move that Romeo 5 forward quite a bit...and given that I can shoot fine with it now, I may forego the magnifier.
The one change I may consider is swapping out to a to one of the included different sized grip backs (or whatever they are called) just to test comfort.
I like the little stow/storage areas in the buttstock. I don't mind the reverse release switch that much. The gun is really comfortable to shoot. I haven't bothered to take it apart for cleaning yet.
I have been trying to think of anything that the Sub2000 has on this and the only thing I can think of is that the Sub2000 supports Glock mags, but that's about it. This thing is such an improvement in all other ways. That said, I think I recall reading Gen3 of the Sub2000 has been released so I imagine some of the gaps will have closed by then. But absolutely no regrets about the FPC.
